Auto focus 

The system automatically displays total cells, live cells, dead cells, and viability percentage on the screen just 10 seconds after counting begins. Additional details, including cell concentration and size, are also provided. 







Manual focus 

 After adjusting the image to your satisfaction using the ZOOM button, press the COUNT button to start counting. 

Within 1 second, the total cells, live cells, dead cells, and viability percentage will appear on the screen.

Viability Measurement

Staining Method


EVE™ Plus is compatible with Trypan Blue (0.4%) and Erythrosin B (0.05%) staining, two of the most commonly used exclusion dyes for measuring cell viability. Both dyes share the same staining principle: viable cells with intact membranes exclude the dye, while non-viable cells are selectively stained.


 Amid growing environmental and health concerns, the non-toxic Erythrosin B has gained popularity in many European countries and is increasingly recognized as a safer alternative to Trypan Blue for cell viability evaluation.









Total cell counting

Individual Counting of Clumped cells

Clumped cells were counted with EVE™ Plus, ADAM-MC2 (the nucleus cell counter), and 3 other manufacturers’ automated cell counters (A, B, and C). EVE™ Plus is comparable to the nucleus counting in terms of accuracy and precision across all cell lines.

In contrast, counters A, B, and C produced inaccurate counts when analyzing clumped cells. 

EVE™ Plus effectively identifies and quantifies individual cells within the clumpy cells, ensuring reliable analysis.

Performance data

Correlation Between Trypan Blue and Erythrosin B in EVE™ Plus


Jurkart cells were counted with EVE™ Plus (Trypan Blue, Erythrosin B) and ADAM™ MC2 (Acridine Orange (AO)•Propidium Iodide (PI)). 

The result of EVE™ Plus using Trypan Blue and Erythrosin B showed a high correlation between the two dyes, and both also correlated well with the results from nucleus-based cell counter
